On 11 July 2006, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) found a Bosniak Serb police officer guilty of crimes against humanity that had been committed against Bosniak civilians in the municipality of Visegrad in 1992. The court ruled that the accused had aided and abetted members of the Serbian army and police and paramilitary groups in the abduction and enforced disappearance of Bosniak civilians, and in crimes of sexual violence against them. He was sentenced under the criminal code of BiH to five years of imprisonment.
