Women and War: "Points of View"
To mark this year's International Women's Day, we invited ICRC staff in Geneva to reflect on an array of photographs highlighting the theme of Women and War. The photo collection "Points of View" presents a series of 19 pictures taken by a variety of photographers worldwide and accompanied by a selection of personal observations.

"We all know or can imagine the pain of losing someone close to you. But not knowing whether they are alive or dead. You cannot mourn or grieve because that's like you've given up hope. I've spoken to women like these who can't give up doing everything they can to find out what has happened to their missing relative. Otherwise they feel like they would be letting them down. The strength this takes is incalculable."

Charlotte Lindsey, Women and War project coordinator
