"I ask myself, how has it come to this? How can human beings do such terrible things? When we work with women who are so wounded inside, there is no immediate solution. It's very long term. Often we just listen. But it's not just a question of listening and talking. Sometimes, a simple hug can give a lot of support. We try to understand and share some of their suffering."
