Your task
The ICRC public health doctor works in a team with other ICRC health delegates (nurses/midwives) to carry out primary health-care programmes for civilians, including displaced persons, affected by conflict.
Through a programme of teaching and supervision, the team works with local counterparts to improve the quality of health care.
Selection requirements
- ideal age: 30 to 45
- prepared to accept unaccompanied postings for the first two missions (minimum 12 months each)
- excellent command of English; French an asset
- degree in medicine, plus master's degree in public health or equivalent
- at least three years' post-graduate clinical experience
- sound knowledge of public health
- experience working in developing countries is an advantage
- driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles)
