Moctar Chaib died in the north-eastern town of Birao.
"We are deeply saddened by the death of our friend and colleague Moctar, and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends," said Simon Ashmore, head of the ICRC's delegation in Bangui. "This latest tragedy shows how dangerous it is for everyone in the area." The circumstances of the killing are not yet known.
