Gaza: the crisis continues without the prospect of lasting peace
Three months after Israel’s military operation, people in the Gaza Strip still struggle to exist. Tens of thousands have had their homes wrecked. Aid has been pledged, but without a courageous peace process, no meaningful reconstruction can take place.

Emergency supplies are prepared at the ICRC warehouse in Gaza. Distributions include plastic sheeting, to cover broken windows and holes in walls, kitchen sets, mattresses, blankets and hygiene kits (items like shampoo, soap and diapers). So far, more than 80,000 people have received emergency aid.

All items to be brought into the Gaza Strip are subject to approval by the Israeli authorities. Restrictions remain critical and do not allow the implementation of most reconstruction programs.
