Training courses
    26th course on international humanitarian law
    Warsaw, Poland, 30 June to 10 July 2008
    Open to students and lecturers trained in public international law and to professionals dealing with IHL-related situations. Includes lectures on the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their 1977 Additional Protocols, and case studies exploring the application of IHL to contemporary armed conflict.

    International Humanitarian Law Summer Course
    University of Ottawa, Canada, 1 - 6 June 2008
    The goal of this course is to offer a course to teach students and professionals the fundamentals of IHL and the opportunity to apply this knowledge through hypothetical, yet realistic, case studies. The organizers welcome applications from students, academics, government, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, the media and international business.

    ICRC international war surgery seminar, 2008 - programme
    The ICRC is holding its 19th Surgical Seminar in Geneva from Friday 28 March to Sunday 30 March 2008
    Surgeons and other surgery professionals from around the world are taking part in the event, whose presenters include ICRC specialists on the treatment and management of war-wounded.

    Water and sanitation engineering
    University of Neuchâtel , Switzerland, 8 - 15 March 2008
    The Centre of Hydrogeology of the University of Neuchâtel (CHYN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC - Wathab Service), with the privileged participation of the Graduate Institute of Development Studies (IUED), propose the course on water and sanitation engineering with the aim to enable the participants to acquire the basic technical skills required to conduct their activities as water and sanitation engineers (Watsan).

    Doctors working in prison: human rights and ethical dilemmas
    Online course
    Many of those held in prisons around the world do not receive adequate medical care. To improve their access to quality health services, the ICRC has participated in a World Medical Association project to produce an internet-based course for doctors working in prisons.
