| Section The ICRC in the United Kingdom The ICRC has had a presence in London since 2003. Based at the headquarters of the British Red Cross Society, the ICRC aims to promote debate on humanitarian issues and international humanitarian law, and enable the ICRC's mandate and work to be better understood among the general public, media, think tanks and policy makers. The ICRC has developed a close working relationship with the national Red Cross and has expanded its network of contacts in the United Kingdom to also include the authorities, armed forces, academics and opinion leaders.
