Access to documents, articles and official statements relating to shared issues of concern of the United Nations and the ICRC. ICRC statements at UN General Assemblies and the UN Commission on Human Rights.

Since 1990, the ICRC has been able to participate in the sessions and the work of the United Nations General Assembly in the capacity of observer. This status was granted in consideration of the special role and mandates conferred upon the ICRC by the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, considering the special role carried on accordingly by the ICRC in international humanitarian relations, and with the aim of promoting cooperation between the two organizations.
