Article 14 - Denunciation

The text of Article 14 is similar to that of Article 99 of Additional Protocol I. [74]The sole difference is the greater precision of Article 99, paragraph 1, in fine, which states that the effect of the denunciation will be deferred until the end of the armed conflict or occupation, "and (…) in any case, [until] operations connected with the final release, repatriation or re-establishment of the persons protected by the Conventions or this Protocol have been terminated". This wording was not used in Additional Protocol III, as it did not appear to be relevant in this case.

74. Article 25 of Additional Protocol II also contains a provision concerning denunciation, though with using language slightly different from that of Additional Protocol I.
