New technologies and the modern battlefield
The 2014 Conference Cycle on New Technologies and the Modern Battlefield was a series of high-level public events and experts meetings coordinated by the ICRC on several continents. In recent years, a wide array of new technologies has entered the modern battlefield, giving rise to new methods and means of warfare, such as cyber attacks, armed drones and robots. This conference cycle addressed the novel humanitarian, legal and ethical challenges posed by new technologies.
