One day careers workshop: Working in conflict zones

This one-day workshop will give participants a grounding in the work of the ICRC and an explanation of different types of interpretation and techniques, and will present the day-to-day work of an ICRC interpreter through role-plays and discussions.
All students are welcome to apply. However, we are particularly interested to hear from students of: Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Pashto, Sinhala, Thai, Khmer, Nepali, Burmese, Amharic, Somali, Hausa, Bahasa Indonesian/Malay and Korean.
Applicants for the workshop should send a CV and covering letter to Liz Harris by Monday 20 May, giving details of the languages they speak and their motivation for working in the humanitarian field.
Successful candidates will be contacted at least one week before the workshop with further details and will need to provide a £10 returnable deposit to the SOAS Careers Service to secure their place.
