On the occasion of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the ICRC, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the ICRC convened a high-level conference on the challenges that lie ahead for humanitarian action. Watch the video from this event on the ICRC YouTube channel.

Welcome and introduction by Ambassador Alexandre Fasel, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations, and Mr Peter Maurer, President of the ICRC.
Panel discussion with:
- Kristalina Georgieva, European Commissioner for Int’l Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response
- António Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
- Mukesh Kapila, Prof. of Global Health and Humanitarian Affairs, University of Manchester
- Peter Maurer, President of the ICRC
Panellists will be joined by humanitarian practitioners directly from the field via a web connection.
