150 years of humanitarian action: Exhibition, "Humanizing War?"

To commemorate the founding of the ICRC in 1863 and the adoption of the original Geneva Convention the following year, Geneva’s Musée Rath is putting on an exhibition designed to tell the ICRC’s story, with the great historical events that prompted the organization’s development.

The Musée Rath closed between 1914 and 1919 because of the war, becoming the temporary home of the ICRC's International Prisoners of War Agency. The Agency served as an intermediary between prisoners and their families.
