Zimbabwean prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai shakes hands with ICRC deputy head of delegation Askar Umarbekov at the opening of the Our World at War exhibition in Harare.
The Our World at War exhibition opened in Harare on 1 June in the presence of Zimbabwean prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai. The prime minister welcomed the campaign theme song composed and performed by leading Zimbabwean singer Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana, saying he expected the song to challenge humanity to further rise in support of humanitarian work. ICRC regional delegation head Thomas Merkelbach reminded the audience how, throughout the Movement, each simple gesture of humanity by an individual reasserts the spirit of the Dunant legacy. Emma Kundishora, secretary general of the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society, reiterated the readiness of the Red Cross to help those most in need.
