The International Tracing Service (ITS) in Bad Arolsen serves victims of Nazi persecution and their families by documenting their fate through the archives it manages. As the ICRC hands over management of the ITS to the German Federal Archives, the last ICRC-appointed director of the ITS, Jean-Luc Blondel, talks about how the Service helps the victims of Nazi persecution retrace their past.

At the end of this interview, Jean-Luc Blondel refers to a story. The story in question is that of George Jaunzemis, who tracked down his relatives 66 years after the end of World War Two, thanks to the ITS.
