Your task

The ICRC information systems engineer installs, maintains and supervises the operation of HF and VHF stations, fixed and mobile satellite ground stations and the entire IT infrastructure of delegations, sub-delegations and local offices. In addition to carrying out installation work, he/she maintains equipment, supervises traffic, selects and trains local technicians and operators and carries out all related administration such as contacts and negotiations with local suppliers and authorities.

Selection requirements

  • ideal age: 25 to 35
  • prepared to accept unaccompanied postings for the first two missions (minimum 12 months each)
  • excellent command of English and French
  • post-secondary qualification or recognized certificate in the electrical/electronics field
  • three years of professional experience
  • sound theoretical and practical knowledge of radio communication
  • fully conversant with WAN/LAN system network
  • sound knowledge of IT (Windows XP and 2003)
  • driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles)
