Russian speaking delegate

Your task

The delegate has several functions: visiting persons deprived of their liberty, restoring family links, developing activities in favour of the missing and their families, promoting the respect of the international humanitarian law, organizing assistance operations. As a representative of the ICRC, he/she also maintains contact and negotiates with authorities and armed actors in order to carry out his/her work as effectively as possible.

Selection requirements

  • ideal age: 25 to 35
  • prepared to accept unaccompanied postings for the first two missions (minimum 12 months each)
  • excellent command of Russian and English. A very good command of French is a strong and distinct asset
  • university degree or equivalent
  • minimum two years of professional experience a must
  • previous humanitarian field experience is an advantage
  • previous experience in the detention work is an asset
  • driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles)
  • fully conversant with IT tools
