ICRC mine/UXO awareness programmes: Mine incidents in South Eastern Europe

The figures of mine/UXO/CB incidents shows the figures compiled by the International Committee of the Red Cross in collaboration with other mine action actors in the respective country. For Croatia the figures are provided by the Croatian Mine Victim Association.

    

 UXO = Unexploded Ordnance and CB=Cluster Bomb munitions.  

 Children are counted up to the age of 18 .

 Note that people injured or killed while performing demining are not included in this statistics.  

 From June 1999 until December 2000, more than 20 persons that have been injured while performing Mine/UXO/CBU clearance. In year 2001, there were 8 incidents involving 9 deminers, that got injures / got killed while performing clearance work. (Eight of them were injured and one killed.)
