President of Benin at the ICRC

Geneva (ICRC) – Mr Mathieu Kérékou, the President of the Republic of Benin, accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Health of the West African state paid an official visit to the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on 3 July. They were received by the organization's Vice-President, Mr Jacques Forster, and an ICRC delegation.

Discussions during their meeting focused on the ICRC's main activities, in particular its field operations, with special reference to work in West Africa and elsewhere on the continent.
