ICRC president visits Singapore

Geneva (ICRC) – Jakob Kellenberger, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has arrived in Singapore for a three-day visit.
He will have talks with S.R. Nathan, president of the Republic of Singapore, Professor S. Jayakumar, deputy prime minister and minister for law, Teo Chee Hean, minister for defence, Raymond Lim Siang Keat, minister for transport and second minister for foreign affairs, Dr Balaji Sadasivan, senior minister of state for foreign affairs, and the chairman of the Singapore Red Cross, Winston Choo Wee Leong.
The talks are expected to focus on the significance of international humanitarian law in contemporary conflicts, the humanitarian situation in some of the areas where the ICRC is particularly active, coordination of humanitarian operations, and the Singapore government's support for the ICRC's work.
