Fear, pain, the loss of loved ones and the struggle for survival have been a daily reality for many Syrians for two years now, with no end in sight. These photos show just a few examples of the conflict's heavy toll on civilians.

- Al-Qusayr. Wounded people are taken to hospital in Lebanon. Al-Qusayr hospital is unable to cope with the influx of wounded people and is ill equipped to treat them. Patients and those transporting them risk their lives crossing the besieged city.
