Niger: vaccination party!

The security situation following the conflict between Touarag rebels and the army of Niger had made it impossible to treat or vaccinate livestock in this area for about a decade. With the support of the ICRC, the stock breeders in the region were finally able to get their livestock vaccinated and treated properly. To celebrate the end of the first phase of the vaccination and treatment programme, they decided to organize a party, with the support of the ICRC and of the livestock ministry.

The festivities attracted visitors from all over the Agadez region. The presence of so many women and children, in particular, made for an even more colourful event.
This was the first time in many years that a stock breeders party had been held on such a scale in the Agadez area.
