"People on War 1999" - Greenberg reports

Under the guidance of Greenberg Research Inc., ICRC staff and Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers carried out the People on War project in 12 war-torn countries, conducting in-depth, face-to-face interviews, group discussions and national public opinion surveys.

Under the guidance of Greenberg Research Inc. , ICRC staff and Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers carried out the People on War project in 12 war-torn countries: Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Colombia, El Salvador, Georgia/Abkhazia, Israel, the occupied territories and the autonomous territories, Lebanon, Nigeria, Philippines, Somalia and South Africa , conducting in-depth, face-to-face interviews, group discussions and national public opinion surveys. Surveys on the basis of a questionnaire only were further conducted in four UN Security Council countries: France, Russian Federation, United Kingdom and United States and also in Switzerland , to reflect perceptions of war among their populations.

The results of the People on War project, have been compiled in the Greenberg Reports composed of the The Global Report, the Parallel Report (based on independent, comparative surveys) and the Country Reports: Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Colombia, Georgia-Abkhazia, Israel + Occupied andautonomous territories, Lebanon, Nigeria, Philippines, Russian Federation, El Salvador, Somalia, South Africa, The France-UK-USA comparative report, including the 17 countries surveyed.

In November 1999, the Greenberg Reports were presented to 188 States and 177 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies at the 27th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva.
