Present in East Asia – China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Mongolia – since 1987, the ICRC moved its regional delegation to Beijing in 2005. The delegation promotes IHL; fosters support for ICRC activities in the region and worldwide; supports National Societies; and helps meet the need for prostheses. Read full overview

    The main task of the regional delegation for East Asia is to promote international humanitarian law. The delegation also familiarizes governments, experts, National Societies and civil society with the ICRC’s humanitarian work and emergency response around the world.
