Council of Delegates

At the last Council of Delegates in Sydney, Australia, representatives of the ICRC, Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies from 189 countries and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies discussed humanitarian challenges and the future of the Movement. The Council of Delegates met from 17-18 November 2013.

Through nine resolutions and nine workshops, participants resolved to work more effectively together to meet the humanitarian challenges of today and tomorrow.  The Chairman’s statement, ‘Celebrating 150 years of humanitarian action’ captures the results of the Council of Delegates and the focus of the Movement’s collective work over the next two years.  See this statement below.  The Resolutions and workshop reports appear under 'Results from the 2013 CoD'.
