Summary:
This Act establishes and recognizes the National Red Cross Society, sets out its objectives and broadly defines its structure. Sections 6 and 8(1) authorize the use of the red cross name and emblem by the National Society in conformity with the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, Section 8(2)(a) prohibits their use by persons not authorized under the provisions of these treaties, and Section 8(2)(b) makes an offence of any use of the red cross emblem or denomination that is not authorized under the provisions of the Act.
