Summary:
This law governs the use and protection of the red cross and red crescent emblems, their designations and the distinctive signals, in accordance with the international obligations of the Republic of Belarus. It distinguishes between the indicative and protective uses of the emblems, attributes rights in this respect to specific entities, provides for control over use of the emblems by the Red Cross Society of Belarus and the relevant State bodies, and refers to national legislation regarding punishment for non-compliance. It also stipulates that the provisions of international treaties to which Belarus is a party shall prevail over national legislation.
