|Title:||Geneva Conventions Act, 1980|
|Title in original language:|
|Entry into force:||22.09.1980|
This act provides for the punishment of grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions. It governs legal proceedings in respect of protected persons (prisoners of war and internees), and prohibits misuse of the red cross and other emblems protected under the Geneva Conventions.
It replaces and repeals the UK Geneva Conventions Acts in so far as they had effect in Barbados.
