    Declaration made upon ratification:

    "The United Kingdom understands the term "the established framework of international law", used in article 8 (2) (b) and (e), to include customary international law as established by State practice and opinio iuris. In that context the United Kingdom confirms and draws to the attention of the Court its views as expressed, inter alia, in its statements made on ratification of relevant instruments of international law, including the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12th August 1949, and relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I) of 8th June 1977."

    Declaration of territorial application made on 11.03.2010:
    “… The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland wishes the United Kingdom’s ratification of the aforesaid Statute and Agreement to be extended to the following territories for whose international relations the United Kingdom is responsible:

    Anguilla
    Bermuda
    British Virgin Islands
    Cayman Islands
    Falkland Islands
    Montserrat
    Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands
    St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha
    Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia
    Turks and Caicos Islands

    The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland considers the extension of the aforesaid Statute and Agreement to take effect from the date of deposit of this notification, … .”

    Declaration of territorial application made on 28.11.2012:
    “… The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland wishes the United Kingdom’s Ratification of the Rome Statute to be extended to the territory of the Isle of Man for whose international relations the United Kingdom is responsible.

    The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland considers the extension of the aforesaid Rome Statute to the Isle of Man to enter into force on the first day of the month after the Sixtieth day following deposit of this notification, … .”
