The Chinese-language version of a worldwide study conducted by the ICRC of the practices of States in the event of armed conflict was published in Beijing this October.

On 18-19 June 2007 a regional meeting entitled "Symposium for the 30th Anniversary of the Adoption of the 1977 Protocols Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August, 1949: "Principles and Practice" took place in Beijing.

The ICRC and the Chinese Society of International Law have jointly hosted a regional roundtable to consult governments and legal experts on the findings of the ICRC's historic study on customary international humanitarian law (IHL).
