Promotion of IHL at the National Police Academy in Monrovia. The ICRC holds weekly dissemination sessions for police recruits that focus on its mandate and activities, the principles of the Movement and international human rights law. The organization is also involved in the dissemination of international humanitarian law to military observers and staff officers of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). In 2005, the delegation held courses for more than 1,900 police recruits and 1,200 peacekeepers.
