Constructing a well in Foya. There is a shortage of safe water and sanitation facilities in rural Liberia. This creates health risks that result in an increased rate of preventable diseases. To combat this problem, the ICRC is constructing and rehabilitating wells and building latrines. Almost 470 wells and more than 680 latrines were constructed or repaired in Liberia during 2005.
