A programme to combat the scourge of malaria has been set up by the Senegalese Red Cross Society: 40 community teams are promoting preventative measures in some twenty villages by selling impregnated mosquito nets at a preferential rate for pregnant women and children. Some 15,000 people have already benefited from these measures.
