Hundreds of thousands of Somalis stricken by disastrous floods
Somalis living along the Shabele and Juba rivers, who have already suffered from a dreadful drought and whose very existence is jeopardized by the ongoing armed violence, now have to contend with the worst floods the country has experienced in recent years.

A family from the Hiran region has found shelter in the Belet Weyne camp – The elderly, women and children are especially vulnerable. The resilience of the Somalis is being sorely tried by the worst drought for 10 years, what is sometimes indiscriminate armed violence, all too rare health facilities and disastrous floods.
