Hundreds of thousands of Somalis stricken by disastrous floods
Somalis living along the Shabele and Juba rivers, who have already suffered from a dreadful drought and whose very existence is jeopardized by the ongoing armed violence, now have to contend with the worst floods the country has experienced in recent years.

A Somali Red Crescent field hospital in the Belet Weyne camp – The armed militias have assured the ICRC and the Somali Red Crescent that humanitarian personnel will not be threatened and will have access to the disaster areas. Despite growing insecurity, both these organizations are able to work in the most remote regions of Somalia.
