Terms of partnerships between companies and the ICRC.
The ICRC is recognized world-wide as a neutral, independent organization. Therefore the ICRC pays particular attention to the potential impact of a partnership on its autonomy and reputation.

The ICRC has established Ethical principles guiding ICRC’s partnerships with the private sector. These are clear criteria to avoid contradictions between the policies and activities of a partner company on the one hand, and the principles and objectives underlying the work of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (and that of the ICRC in particular) on the other.

The ICRC is very careful to preserve the essential purpose of the emblem: in times of conflict, it constitutes the visible sign of protection conferred by the Geneva Conventions. For this reason it created Guidelines on the use of the Red Cross emblem and the name and logo of the ICRC for fundraising purposes.
