Even at the best of times, health care in the villages is rudimentary. For the displaced it is often completely absent. This young girl, standing in front of a makeshift shelter that is covered with a tarpaulin provided by the ICRC, is typical of almost all the youngsters living in the bush, whose vastly distended bellies are but one indicator of their poor condition.
