The regional hospital in Gulu district. Overcrowding and poor sanitation are compounded by the lack of adequate health facilities leading to serious health problems. In collaboration with the Uganda Red Cross Society, other international humanitarian organizations, the Ministry of Health and local health authorities the ICRC supports existing hospitals and health facilities, trains health workers and strengthens community-based projects to maintain access to health care for around 300,000 displaced people in more than 15 IDP camps.
