Nigeria - the work of the ICRC and the Nigerian Red Cross
The ICRC and the Nigerian Red Cross work together on a range of activities which include helping those affected by violence, immunizing children against disease and improving conditions in detention facilities.

Construction of a prison well to improve access to clean water. The Nigerian Red Cross Prison and Sanitation Programme is supported by the ICRC. Apart from sanitation micro-projects such as this one, the Red Cross also distributes hygiene material and teaches first aid skills to the prisoners.
