Zimbabwe: providing vital drugs and safe water to rural health centres
Zimbabweans are facing extremely hard economic times resulting in the highest inflation rate in the world, a situation which is putting added pressure on the country's already weakened healthcare system. The ICRC is supporting 16 rural health structures in three districts.

The ICRC provides essential pharmaceutical drugs according to the most prevalent diseases to meet the needs of the population. Anti-malarial drugs are distributed to health structures in areas where malaria has high occurrence rates or is endemic. Mosquito nets are also distributed to expectant mothers and children under five to protect them from malaria. The ICRC distributed 30,000 mosquito nets to Zimbabweans in 2007.
