Gaza: let the seeds grow
Agriculture is a lifeline for a sizeable portion of Gaza's population. When the sector took a severe blow during the recent fighting, a lot of people were left struggling to cope with this fresh setback. Now, those who can are picking up the pieces, as the ICRC’s Iyad Nasr explains.

The soil is now ready for planting. "We are planting potatoes. They grow fast. As the irrigation system is not yet functioning, we hope the rain will come soon to help them grow faster," says Abu Nidal, throwing potato seed into the furrows.

With 27% of Gaza's population depending on agriculture, all eyes are on the coming harvests.
