Gaza: let the seeds grow
Agriculture is a lifeline for a sizeable portion of Gaza's population. When the sector took a severe blow during the recent fighting, a lot of people were left struggling to cope with this fresh setback. Now, those who can are picking up the pieces, as the ICRC’s Iyad Nasr explains.

Every day, Um Ahmed has to walk three kilometres to the closest food distribution centre, carrying her youngest daughter.

"It takes me about an hour to get there. Then, I often have to queue up for more than three hours to get a food ration. Then, another hour to return… It is tough and tiring but I have no other choice," she says.
