West Bank: the shrinking world of the Bedouins

Ten-year-old Ahmed helps his father look after sheep in Al Hadidiya, their village in the Jordan valley.

Owing to tight restrictions on movement imposed by the Israeli authorities, herders have ever-decreasing access to grazing land for their livestock.

Many have had to reduce the size of their herds because they could not find enough food and water for them. Animal health problems and a fourfold increase in fodder prices have made life even more difficult.
