India: ICRC pays tribute to Henry Dunant
New Delhi (ICRC) – To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in New Delhi, in cooperation with the Indian Red Cross Society and the Swiss Embassy in India, is organizing a seminar on current challenges to international humanitarian law which will be held in New Delhi on 12 August.

The event will bring together policy makers, academics, and representatives of think tanks, armed forces and human rights groups. The participants will exchange views and experiences relating to the significance and relevance of international humanitarian law in contemporary armed conflicts and the challenges involved in obtaining access to conflict victims.

The seminar will conclude with a book launch, sponsored by the Swiss Embassy, of a Hindi translation of Henry Dunant's A Memory of Solferino.
