The world of football teams up with the Red Cross to help mine victims in Afghanistan walk again

As the official charity partner of the UEFA for the EURO 2008TM, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has launched the online fund raising campaign www.scorefortheredcross.org.
Internet users can buy goals for their favourite football team and can make it win the title of the "Most Humanitarian Team of the EURO 2008".
Benefits of the campaign will go to victims of landmines in Afghanistan to help them to walk again and to local programs of the 16 Red Cross from across Europe associated with the campaign.
The official ambassador is the Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
