 Archived page (may contain outdated information)29-06-2007 News release 07/83 Colombia: ICRC offers services following deaths of 11 assembly members held by FARC Geneva (ICRC) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is saddened by the news, conveyed by the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) in a statement dated 28 June, that 11 of the 12 members of the Assembly of the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca held in captivity since April 2002 met their deaths on 18 June 2007. In keeping with its role as a neutral and independent humanitarian organization, the ICRC has offered its good offices to the parties concerned in order to allow the bereaved families to recover the bodies of their loved ones.
