News Section 29th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent - Protecting Human Dignity  The 29th International Conference - grouping the National Societies, their International Federation, the ICRC and the States party to the Geneva Conventions - was held in Geneva, 20-21 June 2006 The three main objectives of this 29th International Conference were:
These objectives were achieved with the adoption by the Conference of its resolution1. As an immediate result after the closing of the Conference, the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Magen David Adom in Israel were recognized by the ICRC and admitted as members of the International Federation Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
