Honduras: ICRC enters Brazilian embassy
Tegucigalpa/Geneva (ICRC) – Yesterday, Friday, an ICRC delegate entered the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa and was able to meet all those on the premises and check on their condition.

The ICRC carried out the strictly humanitarian visit in its capacity as a neutral and independent organization in response to a request from the Brazilian government. The delegate was able to gain safe access to the embassy with the agreement of all parties concerned.

In connection with the recent clashes between demonstrators and the police, the Honduran Red Cross has administered first aid to over 100 people in the past few days. Honduran Red Cross emergency relief workers remain on alert round the clock, and some 200 volunteers from all over the country, including 60 in the capital Tegucigalpa, are on standby, ready to respond to call-outs.
