Explosion rocks ICRC compound in Peshawar
An explosion occurred at 04.20 local time today in the compound of the International Committee of the Red Cross sub-delegation in Peshawar, north-western Pakistan.

While there were no casualties, the explosion damaged four ICRC vehicles and caused some minor damage to the office buildings.

The ICRC does not yet have any information as to the cause of the explosion and cannot speculate as to the reasons for it. The ICRC is in contact with all the relevant authorities in Pakistan, and is awaiting the outcome of initial investigations into the blast. The organization is carefully assessing security conditions for its future activities.
